Software Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Manager to lead our dynamic development team in the fast-paced world of professional racing. This is a unique opportunity for a driven individual with a strong technical background and leadership experience to help deliver cutting-edge solutions in a highly innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the work of a talented team of 5-7 software developers.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent software development projects, ensuring smooth delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison between development teams and cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, product owners, and executives.
  • Oversee Agile development efforts, including facilitating ceremonies and managing stories, tickets, and workflows.
  • Navigate and resolve complex questions from developers to ensure alignment with business goals and technical needs.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of a modern tech stack, including AWS services like DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Lambdas.
  • Support continuous integration and delivery through Gitlab and other development tools.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and read code; ideal for a former software engineer.
  • Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Proven experience in project or program management, overseeing complex development efforts.
  • Hands-on experience with modern tech stacks, especially AWS (DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambdas).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and facilitation of ceremonies.
  • Experience with Gitlab or similar CI/CD tools is a plus.
