Job Description

Phaxis is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students in grades PreK-12.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and speech-language treatment plans that align with student goals.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to students, addressing areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, and social communication.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language services within the students' overall education plans.
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting therapy goals and interventions as necessary to meet their needs.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and work with families to ensure clear communication and consistent support for student development.
  • Keep accurate records of evaluations, progress notes, and therapy sessions to meet compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Provide training and resources to staff and parents on supporting students with communication disorders.
  • Stay updated on the latest best practices and research in speech-language pathology and implement these strategies within the school setting.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Ohio SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
