Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic procedures utilizing a magnetic resonance scanner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging procedures based on assessment of the patient's status, request of the service, and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure MRI Safety precautions to patients, families, co-workers, and any other individuals that may come in contact with the MRI scan room area.
  • Assess patient's needs and provide imaging related to comfort, hygiene, and range of motion.
  • Prepare contrast agents which are utilized for the MRI procedure according to procedural guidelines and protocols.
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and contrast media.
  • Promote the team approach to providing Radiology services by positively interacting with the technical, support, nursing, residents, and medical staff.
  • Engage in problem solving, crisis management, and systems implementation throughout the hospital to promote and support efficient, high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Instruct MRI/Radiography students as needed in support of the radiology education program.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • MRI Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT within 1 year of hire.
  • West Virginia State Licensure as an MRI Tech, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed (excluding Pennsylvania).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT Certification: Radiography.
  • One (1) year experience in working in MRI.
