Become a vital part of the Zayed 9 East Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where you will work 36 hours weekly in a dynamic rotating shift environment. This role is 100% onsite, with occasional holidays, every third weekend, and some on-call responsibilities.
Your Role in Patient Care
As a Registered Nurse 2 in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, you will be an integral member of a collaborative, patient-centered team. Our facility is recognized as a Magnet designated, academic medical center, and we pride ourselves on our commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety.
About the Surgical Intensive Care Unit
The SICU at Johns Hopkins is an 18-bed unit that caters to a diverse patient demographic undergoing various surgical procedures, including Abdominal Transplant, GI Surgery, Trauma, Vascular Surgery, and more. Our dedicated Registered Nurses take pride in delivering exceptional post-operative care.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- An Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN preferred)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- An active Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State Registered Nursing license
- CPR/BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted)
- Proficiency in Acute Care and Registered Nurse 1 competencies.

- Collaborate with a skilled team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
- Participate in unit-based committees.
- Mentor new graduate nurses during their residency.
