Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant/Scribe to join our team at Quincy Medical Group. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the medical provider in ensuring each patient's medical record is complete and accurate.
  • Accompany the medical provider during history-taking and exams, recording details into the medical record.
  • Coordinate tests, orders, and results as needed.
  • Perform tests and measure eye function to assist in diagnosing and treating eye disorders and diseases.
  • Manage the physician's calendar, requiring proactive thinking and adaptability to changes.
  • Inspect and maintain patients' medical records, escort patients to exam rooms, and prepare them for exams.
  • Take vital signs and record comprehensive patient histories, enter and submit lab and imaging orders as directed.
  • Instruct patients on eye care and other treatments, transcribe the provider's dictation accurately, and make necessary outgoing calls and screen incoming calls.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked office area, sterilize instruments and equipment, and ensure proper disposal of biohazard waste.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in using Epic and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current CPR Certification (can be obtained upon starting).
  • Educational qualifications include one year of college in a health-related field (Associate degree preferred) or six months related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
