Landfill Worker

Chicago Grade Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a safety-conscious Laborer/Equipment Operator to join our team in Templeton, CA. This is a full-time, long-term position with a reputable company.

Work shifts are subject to business needs and seniority. This position will be Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Overtime hours may be required.

The pay range for this position is $20-21/hour. We offer excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, 401(k) retirement, and a quarterly safety incentive bonus.

• Spotting and directing trucks
• Operating equipment such as water trucks, forklifts, and loaders
• Traffic management - moving signs and cones
• Ensuring all customers wear proper PPE
• Processing and packing electronics
• Managing the mattress recycling area
• General site cleanup and landscaping
• Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

• At least 2 years of work experience in a labor-type position
• Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce site safety procedures
• Commit to safe operating practices at all times
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout the entire shift
