Job Summary

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position at Maine Medical Center.

Your Role:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of building components of the physical plant. Working under the direction of the Facilities Management Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic performs work in a safe, neat, and workman-like manner, with special attention paid to the environment of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on a variety of building components, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair building systems, including boilers, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests to ensure the safe and reliable operation of building systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimize disruptions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to ensure the highest level of service.

Requirements:
  • High school education preferred; post-secondary education in building construction preferred.
  • Valid Maine driver's license; obtain a valid High Pressure Boiler Operator's License within one year of employment.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in the construction trade or hospital field.
