We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate New Graduate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the provision of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with experienced Medical Surgical RNs and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Perform and document thorough patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and administer medications safely and effectively.
- Identify patient learning needs and provide individualized teaching to promote patient empowerment and self-care.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement initiatives and collaborating with spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics teams.
- Serve as a point of contact for patient care coordination throughout the hospital departments.
- Current RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
As a New Graduate Registered Nurse, you will work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, and may be required to use physical restraints. You will also be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights, and may be required to work alone for prolonged periods.
Physical RequirementsYou will be required to lift and carry patients and equipment, and may be exposed to hazardous substances or body fluids. You will also be required to use manual dexterity, perform shift work, and maneuver the weight of patients.
