Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist - PRN to join our team at Noland Hospital Anniston. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Dispensing and Management: Dispense medications and pharmaceuticals, including controlled substances, in compliance with department and hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards.
  • Parenteral Medication Preparation: Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of parenteral medications.
  • Unit Dose Cart Filling: Fill and/or check unit dose carts.
  • Medication Consultations: Assist medical and nursing staffs on matters related to drugs and drug products; document the outcomes of consultations in the Intervention Log.
  • Patient Medication Profiles: Maintain and review patient medication profiles and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Drug Information: Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor profiles for drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, and appropriate drug therapy and duration.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy and licensed in the State of Alabama.
  • Experience: Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to transport and/or lift an object intermittently throughout the workday up to a maximum of 20 pounds; must be able to walk, stand, and work for extended periods of time without relief; must possess dexterity of arms, hands, and fingers bilaterally; must be able to work with hands for up to 12 hours a day; must be able to push/pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds; must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of this position can be fully met.
