After School Matters, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth in Chicago, is seeking passionate instructors to facilitate engaging arts programs for high school students. Become part of a vibrant community and contribute to the artistic growth of teens in the area.
Position Overview:We are looking for enthusiastic part-time educators to guide students in a variety of artistic disciplines. Instructors will inspire students through activities in performing arts, visual arts, and culinary arts, encouraging them to hone their skills and discover their creative potential.
Program Structure and Availability:- Summer: 6 to 7 weeks, Monday through Thursday/Friday
- Fall: 10 weeks, after school hours and/or Saturdays
- Spring: 10 weeks, after school hours and/or Saturdays
Be a part of enriching the lives of teens through artistic experiences while promoting a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:- Introduce students to current industry trends and artistic concepts
- Design and oversee interactive workshops and excursions
- Recruit, instruct, and mentor students
- Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions
- Organize program activities and maintain student documentation
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline preferred
- Experience working with adolescents is essential
- Familiarity with Chicago's diverse neighborhoods
- Dedication to fostering diversity and inclusion
