Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Irving, TX Development Team. As an intern, you will play a key role in supporting our Go Red for Women and Heart Ball events, driving the success of these impactful campaigns. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that contribute to the planning, execution, and follow-up of these life-saving initiatives.

The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students with hands-on experience in various facets of non-profit work. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in event planning, marketing, and fundraising.

Responsibilities


• Assist with data entry and report generation.
• Conduct research on company information for prospects.
• Communicate with companies to ensure timely event execution.
• Identify and reconnect with lapsed companies through online research.
• Support Hands-only CPR events.
• Assist with event planning and execution, including material gathering and setup.
• Support Development Directors in gathering materials from companies.
• Develop event collateral, including save the dates, invitations, and event programs.
• Collaborate with Event Coordinators to execute Run of Show for core events.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should be seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
  • Experience or interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising is a plus.
  • Excellent written communication skills are required.
  • Effective one-on-one and group communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Basic Canva skills are a plus.
  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Reliable WiFi connection and transportation are necessary.
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
