Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist/Geologist to join our team in Charleston, SC.

This is a task-oriented position that requires extended periods of fieldwork and periodic out-of-town travel. As an Environmental Scientist/Geologist with ESP Associates, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from environmental site assessments to regulatory compliance management.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities
  • Field Work:
  1. Perform field explorations to identify potential environmental hazards
  2. Assist with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and NEPA reviews
  3. Analyze field conditions associated with groundwater, soil, and soil gas sample collection and documentation
  4. Generate field reports to document findings and recommendations
Office Work:
  1. Reduce field data into actionable insights
  2. Assist in the preparation of work plans and reports, including comprehensive multi-media assessment reports
Requirements
  • A degree in environmental engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field (Associate's or Bachelor's)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying field and weather conditions
  • Must be willing to travel as needed (estimated at 30% of the time)
  • Candidate must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving policy
