ChristianaCare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Senior Clinical Data Quality Specialist. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of clinical data within the Thoracic Surgery department.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and facilitate Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives through the management of clinical registries.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess and improve quality measures.
- Abstract patient data relative to specific cases and query providers to clarify and prepare data as needed.
- Accountable for the quality and integrity of outcome data, identifying issues with data collection methods to meet accreditation, regulatory, and institutional standards.
- Establish, perform, and ensure quality control checks for assigned databases in conjunction with the Performance Improvement department.
- Identify trends, concerns, opportunities in the data and present this information to the Thoracic Surgery team.
- Reconcile and resolve discrepancies within abstracted data and provide education and guidance on data inclusion/exclusion based on defined data dictionary.
- Develop and implement data validation methodologies for both external and internal quality data.
- Work with the quality team, Service Line leadership, and Office of Quality and Patient Safety to identify and close gaps in care.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports to present data in an understandable and actionable format to support strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree from an accredited school required.
- At least three (3) years of related Thoracic Surgery, Surgical, or Oncology nursing experience required.
