Pastry Artists leverage their artistic flair and imagination to leave lasting impressions through bakery creations for the special events of Festival Foods' guests.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Decorates and finishes a variety of prepared bakery items including bars, pies, cookies, doughnuts, cupcakes, and cakes.
Enhances sales by producing visually appealing products.
Surpasses guest expectations by delivering beautifully crafted, creative, and uniquely designed special orders that adhere to specific requests.
Minimizes waste by accurately measuring and utilizing the appropriate amounts of icing and other materials.
Fills, rotates, and removes decorated items from the sales floor and service case.
Identifies products that are low in stock and replenishes them as necessary.
Plans production tasks to ensure sufficient back stock is available for the sales floor and service case as items are sold.
Maintains product freshness by organizing newer items at the back of displays and ensuring older items are sold first, while removing outdated or stale products.
Provides exceptional service to all guests.
Assists guests in locating desired items.
Takes orders for cakes and other special requests.
Collaborates with guests to visualize the product they desire.
Answers phone calls and assists guests with proper etiquette.
Promotes Festival culture, guest service, and performance standards to others in the department.
Maintains adequate supplies in the cake decorating area by restocking packaging, icing, decorative elements, and other necessary items.
Contributes to overall department goals by assisting in other areas as needed.
Ensures cleanliness in the department by organizing and cleaning workspaces, shelving, and sales areas as required.
Responsible for maintaining food safety logs.
Ensures all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by specified times.
Regular and timely attendance in accordance with the work schedule, providing adequate notice for any absences.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Standing for extended periods (80% of the time).
Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally (30% of the time).
Frequent proximity to moving machinery (60% of the time).
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of the time).
Repetitive motion of hands and wrists (90% of the time).
WORK SCHEDULE
The Pastry Artist II is an hourly position.
The work schedule typically includes mornings, afternoons, and weekends, with flexibility to work evenings and holidays as needed.
