Mental Health Technician Supervisor

The State of Alabama is seeking a qualified Mental Health Technician Supervisor to join our team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Job Summary

This is a permanent, full-time position with the Department of Mental Health. As a Mental Health Technician Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the work of a staff of subordinate workers in the general treatment and care of persons with mental illness in a unit, ward, or cottage setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate the work of subordinate workers in the therapeutic care, habilitation, and rehabilitation of persons with mental illness.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate workers to ensure high-quality care and treatment.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and programs to meet the needs of individuals with mental illness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and treatment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as psychology, social work, or nursing.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a mental health setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
