This role within the UHealth system at the University of Miami offers a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse II to work in the Radiation Oncology Department at SCCC. The position includes a $25,000 Sign-On Bonus.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on cultural competence and evidence-based practices.
- Supervise and guide nursing and allied health staff in their daily responsibilities.
- Conduct thorough assessments of assigned patients and document nursing care effectively.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions and vital signs.
- Adjust treatment plans based on patient responses and physician directives.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Provide psychological support to patients and their families.
- Administer medications safely and maintain accurate records as per regulatory standards.
- Communicate care plans clearly to patients, families, and team members, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Utilize best practices for patient care transitions and discharge planning.
- Adapt to changing demands in the work environment while prioritizing patient care.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively.
- Act as a mentor for new staff, facilitating their integration into the healthcare environment.
- Follow university and unit-level policies and procedures diligently.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Licensing: Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in nursing.
- Skills: Proficient in medical terminology and nursing care methods; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
