Library Media Specialist

Job Summary:

The Pulaski County Special School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Library Media Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, the successful candidate will be responsible for promoting literacy, information literacy, and technology integration throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging library programs and services that meet the diverse needs of students, teachers, and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver high-quality, research-based lessons that incorporate multiple literacies and foster critical thinking.
• Provide instruction and support in the use of technology, including Google G Suite and other digital tools.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the library media center, including collection development, cataloging, and circulation.
• Assist with state and district-mandated testing and other educational initiatives.
• Stay current with best practices in library media and technology integration, and share knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements:

• Masters degree in Library Science or related field.
• Arkansas teaching certification or equivalent.
• Experience working in a library media setting, preferably in a K-12 school district.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
