House Supervisor

The House Supervisor / Charge Nurse is responsible for providing guidance and supervision to hospital personnel, serving as the liaison between hospital administration and various departments. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills to ensure seamless operations and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Displays Service Excellence by promoting the hospital's mission, vision, and values to enhance patient satisfaction.
Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and practices to ensure quality job performance and hospital compliance.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients in all age groups throughout the hospital.
Collaborates with physicians to ensure exceptional patient care, including assessing patient conditions, orders, treatment plans, and anticipated needs.
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in assessing patients, setting priorities, organizing work, and providing total patient care based on patient/departmental needs.
Acts as an administrative liaison between patients, families, physicians, and ancillary departments during emergencies or hospital-wide situations.
Coordinates after-hours call-ins and staffing, ensuring appropriate utilization of human capital and durable medical supplies.
Keeps department directors/managers informed of facility activity, personnel problems, and patient conditions.
Effectively communicates with all departments, physicians, and personnel to resolve situations efficiently.
Requirements
Graduate of an approved school of nursing and a current Ohio RN license.
BCLS certification within 6 months of hire.
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
TNCC certification within one year of hire.
Proficient in infant, pediatric, and adult airway management.
Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on their assigned unit/department.
Preferred Qualifications
B.S./B.S.N. preferred.
Previous management and/or supervisory training or experience preferred.
Physical Demands
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing. This position is classified at risk for possible occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.).
