Day Program Direct Support Professional

The Day Program Direct Support Professional will work closely with the ISS Supervisor/Manager to provide individualized care at the facility, adhering to policies, procedures, and quality of service standards.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Directs personal assistance with daily living activities, including grooming, eating, and personal hygiene.
  • Reinforces counseling and therapy activities as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Ensures the health and safety of all individuals by identifying and correcting safety hazards.
  • Provides assistance with medications and performs tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse.
  • Documents incidents involving individuals at the facility.
  • Provides daily reports to the Supervisor outlining accomplishments and objectives met daily.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere conducive to the habilitation of the individuals served.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the facility, including cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, sitting rooms, and kitchen.
  • Maintains regular attendance and timeliness in duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the HCS and MRLA programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
