Job Overview

Advanced Pain Management of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled medical professional to join our dedicated team. We are looking for a physician with expertise in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), who may also hold subspecialty certifications in areas such as Brain Injury Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Pain Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, or Sports Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients across all age groups.
  • Emphasize functional recovery in treatment plans.
  • Utilize extensive medical knowledge to address disabling conditions throughout a patient's life.
  • Diagnose and manage pain resulting from various injuries, illnesses, or disabilities.
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment and prevention strategies.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other specialists, such as primary care doctors, neurologists, and orthopedic surgeons.
  • Adopt a holistic approach to patient care, addressing the entire individual rather than just specific symptoms.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with diverse personalities.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on achieving results and resolving challenges.
  • Proficient in EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies and ultrasound-guided procedures.
  • Experience with fluoroscopy-guided interventions and spinal injections.
  • Knowledge of discography, disc decompression, and vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty techniques.
  • Expertise in nerve stimulators, blocks, and ablation procedures for both peripheral and spinal applications.
  • Skilled in joint injections and prolotherapy.
  • Competent in spasticity management, including phenol and botulinum toxin injections.
  • Familiarity with manual medicine and osteopathic treatment modalities.
  • Understanding of complementary and alternative medicine practices.
  • Experience in disability and impairment assessments.
  • Ability to provide medicolegal consulting services.
