Medical Specimen Collector

Job Summary:

BioReference Health, LLC is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in Brentwood. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and storing medical specimens, explaining procedures to patients, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and store medical specimens according to established procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients in a clear and courteous manner
  • Use proper technique when collecting blood samples
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
  • Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature
  • Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
  • Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent patient interaction skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Compensation:

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $23.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
