About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Auditor to join our team at Citrus County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. As an Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of our operating policies, procedures, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with laws and regulations
  • Investigate allegations of fraud, waste, or abuse
  • Perform research, fieldwork, data analysis, and policy and procedure evaluations
  • Ensure adequate accounting control over assets and liabilities
  • Draw conclusions and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Required; Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in accounting, IT, auditing, or fraud investigation
  • Knowledge of auditing theory, principles, practices, and methods of governmental accounting
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
