About the Organization

The Alameda Unified School District is dedicated to fostering our community's fundamental principles of fairness and excellence for every learner by creating inclusive and secure environments that challenge and support each student in becoming culturally aware and ready for future educational and career opportunities.

Our vision is for every child to be empathetic, self-assured, and to experience success, being academically equipped and capable of making a significant, positive difference in their own lives, the lives of others, and the broader community.

We are a diverse network of seventeen (17) educational institutions serving around 9000 learners, from early childhood to adult education. Our student body reflects a multitude of cultures and ethnicities, with 72 languages represented among our students. Approximately 14% of our learners are English Language Learners; 12% receive Special Education Services; and 29% are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our demographic composition includes 7% African American, 27% Asian, 16% Hispanic, 30% White, and 12% identifying as Two or more races.

Valid California Teaching Credential - Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling.
