Retail Pharmacy Manager for Public Health Trust of Dade Co

The Public Health Trust of Dade Co is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Pharmacy Manager to lead our retail pharmacy team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of our retail pharmacy. This includes ensuring compliance with state pharmacy regulations and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities:
As a Retail Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing goals and direction for the operational and clinical aspects of pharmacy services in accordance with the overall department goals and the goals of the Public Health Trust of Dade Co.
- Providing leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, continually monitoring, and evaluating the quality of services provided.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures, quality assurance, and quality improvement programs for the pharmacy department.
- Ensuring staff compliance with hospital-wide and area-specific policies and procedures and practice standards.
- Actively participating in departmental and hospital-wide patient safety initiatives.
- Maintaining an effective orientation module for pharmacy staff to ensure competency in job skills, knowledge, and equipment.
- Establishing and implementing staff development programs on a regular basis specific to the area of responsibility.
- Encouraging development and growth of clinical practice pharmacist skills to facilitate greater involvement in patient care.
- Providing opportunities for staff involvement in the education of the pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff as well as pharmacy students and residents.
- Fostering a practice environment that will promote job satisfaction and cooperation among the staff.
- Participating in the recruitment and interview process for pharmacy personnel.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of related experience, with management experience required. An advanced degree in a specialty is also required. Additionally, the candidate must have a current Florida pharmacy license or certification as required.
