Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts a variety of radiologic examinations, including general radiography, portable imaging, and fluoroscopic studies.
  • Ensures the production of clear and precise images for diagnostic interpretation, maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of all technical data related to imaging procedures.
  • Proactively identifies and reports any equipment issues to management for prompt resolution.
  • Educates patients about the imaging process, equipment, and procedures to foster understanding and cooperation.
  • Prioritizes patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Assists in scheduling and coordinating patient appointments for imaging services.
  • Monitors patient flow and determines the urgency of imaging needs.
  • Demonstrates proficient operation of radiologic equipment in accordance with established technical standards.
  • Collaborates with Radiologists during fluoroscopic and other specialized procedures.
  • Handles the acquisition, archiving, transmission, and printing of images using PACS technology.
  • Capable of performing after-hours image transmission and related documentation.
  • Reports any technical malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator without delay.
  • Processes billing through the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to new staff and Radiology students.
  • Engages in continuous professional development through in-service training and participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • May rotate through various diagnostic imaging modalities and locations as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid Registered Technologist credential from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing.
  • Current state licensure is required prior to employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Complexity of Work:

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of human anatomy and related pathological conditions.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting patients of varying weights and handle equipment on a daily basis.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adheres to standard safety protocols and utilizes personal protective equipment as required.
