Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team at MedStar Health. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment with precision.
  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures, including setting up equipment and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination during surgical procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in at least one specialty surgical service, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a school of surgical technology or hospital-based program preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a surgical technologist, with a strong background in perioperative care.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
