Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Singing River Health System Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi. As a LPN Med/Surg 7A, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician.
  • Assume other duties as assigned, including working collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Utilize the MS Nurse Practice Act, the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Department of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
  • Registered with the Mississippi Board of Nursing licensure for practice in the Licensed Practical Nurse expanded role.
  • Must complete and BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Appropriate nursing practice/experience within the past three (3) years.
Work Environment

Work involves regular requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area.

Work involves exerting a moderate amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Work requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

Physical Demands

Work is moderately active, involving sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area.

Work involves exerting an eligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Employee is responsible for safely moving, lifting, and handling all supplies, equipment, and patients, with assistance, up to 350 pounds.

Mental Demands

Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision-making abilities.

Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.

Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.

Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.

Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
