The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of facilities management, including daily operations, maintenance, design, construction, and renovations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and direct engineering, construction, and utilities maintenance, buildings and grounds maintenance, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and housekeeping services.
  • Oversee a department of approximately 1 million sq ft across multiple buildings and locations.
  • Lead a team of trades, grounds, housekeeping, administration, and events staff.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and train new employees.
  • Develop and implement a key inventory system.
  • Assure all life safety, elevators, and mechanical equipment are in compliance with local AHJ's.
  • Coordinate housing for third-party summer camps.
  • Participate on safety and space planning committees.
  • Develop and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Oversee contracted CPO to maintain swimming pool.
  • Work with on-site food services vendor to assure proper operation of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Plan and direct all activity related to energy efficiency of all heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and associated control systems.
  • Prepare and administer departmental annual budget.
  • Coordinate snow and ice removal on campus sidewalks, stairs, parking lots, and roads.
  • Provide guidance to and supervision of outside vendors and contractors.
  • Responsible for all personnel actions within the department and coordinating personnel actions with the AVP of HR as appropriate.
  • Participate in labor contract negotiations.
  • Provide leadership to maintain good labor relations.
Requirements:
  • Possess an undergraduate degree in engineering, facilities management, business, or a related field.
  • Supervisory experience in an active and customer service environment.
  • Background in a union environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with various facilities automation tools such as computerized maintenance management system.
  • Knowledge and skills with project management software that includes tracking work orders.
