Position Title: Cloud Security Operations Specialist

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Contract Duration: 4 months (Potential for extension)

Compensation: $85.71 per hour

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Security Operations Specialist with a focus on cloud security to join our dynamic team. This role involves collaborating with the Cloud Security Manager and requires a proactive approach to managing security operations.

Key Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with CNAPP tools (preferably Palo Alto Prisma) and cloud security (AWS and Azure are essential).
  • Background in security operations, including alert review, investigation, and rule tuning.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations related to the company's CNAPP and CWP solutions.
  • Identify, communicate, and address vulnerabilities and misconfigurations while refining policies for optimal alert accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cloud account, engineering, and development teams to oversee security vulnerabilities and remediation efforts.
  • Establish key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the DevSecOps program.
  • Assist in the triage of potential security incidents and support cybersecurity escalations.
  • Develop runbooks and document security policies and procedures.
  • Promote security and privacy by design through effective collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Identify security design gaps in current and proposed architectures and recommend enhancements.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in cloud and container security (AWS, Azure, Anthos, Kubernetes preferred).
  • Familiarity with enterprise CNAPP and/or CWP tools (Palo Alto Prisma preferred).
  • Understanding of cloud concepts and network architectures.
  • Knowledge of application architecture and security best practices.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to foster collaboration among cross-functional teams regarding security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective security processes across teams.
  • Ability to summarize issues clearly and tailor communication for different audiences.
  • Proven track record of driving project completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in automating or scripting repetitive tasks.
  • Background in big four consulting or Fortune 500 companies.
  • Experience in the Telecom/Cable industry.
  • Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA).
  • Cloud provider certifications (Azure, GCP, AWS).
