Experience: Minimum 1 year required, 2 years Med/Surg experience preferred

License: Michigan RN License (pending license acceptable, must provide ETA)

Certifications: BLS (AHA) (pending is acceptable, must confirm willingness to obtain)

Job Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work with a variety of staff (i.e., RN, LPN, Techs, etc.)
  • Orientation hours are 8; candidates must be available the entire week of orientation.
  • Willingness to float to other Med/Surg units as needed, typically once per week.
  • Required to work every other weekend.
  • Cannot guarantee or approve block scheduling at this time.
  • Responsible for providing care in a 37-bed unit, managing a wide variety of patient types.
  • Specializes in the care of gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries.
  • Patient care for general medical diagnosis, orthopedic/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, surgical patients including GI, urology, hysterectomies, mastectomies.
  • Staffing ratio is 1:5-6 for nights, which may flex to 8 patients with support from an LPN.
  • Holiday time off requests are not guaranteed as holiday work is usually required.
  • Completion of modules is non-billable, self-reported, and part of orientation and annual training.
  • Proof of flu vaccination required upon submission; medical exemptions must be submitted within 48 hours of signing the contract.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
  • All candidates are subject to background policy checks and must have completed all lab work within 48-72 hours of signing the contract.
  • Return staff policy requires a six-month gap before reapplying.
