Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist to join our Rotech team. In this role, you will provide support to patients, referral sources, and employees by performing tasks related to patient care and third-party reimbursement. Primarily responsible for new order intake to ensure accuracy with clinical, billing, and care-related information and processing. First line of contact with new customers.
Responsibilities
As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing excellent customer service to patients, referral sources, and employees.
- Collecting co-pays and deductible amounts.
- Conducting insurance verification and eligibility for services/products.
- Conducting patient satisfaction calls and acting as a patient advocate to resolve questions or concerns.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines.
- Maintaining accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry.
- Managing all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, inputting data into IMBS and eIntake, printing tickets, assembling charts, and processing paperwork.
- Obtaining authorization and qualification documentation.
- Preparing complete and accurate files for the Billing Department.
- Processing new orders, responding to questions, resolving issues, or forwarding to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction.
- Processing work orders to field locations and coordinating timely fulfillment of products and services ordered.
- Providing product/service information and education by answering questions, offering assistance.
- Providing thorough review and Quality Assurance for medical necessity and documentation requirements of payors and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in the medical field and administrative record management.
- Strong customer service background.
Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $16.25 per hour plus a quarterly bonus opportunity.
