Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team at Summit Materials. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of concrete produced within our division.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field testing of concrete, including fresh and hardened properties, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain records of materials used in production and evaluate raw materials to ensure minimization of product failure.
- Monitor and test concrete performance during placement to identify potential issues.
- Perform plant inspections to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and SOPs.
- Communicate test results to QA Manager and Plant Manager to ensure timely resolution of material quality-related issues.
- Collaborate with production to identify and resolve quality issues related to concrete performance.
- Support Sales and Production departments in resolving quality-based customer queries and complaints.
- Perform ASTM, ACI, and FDOT testing procedures and evaluations.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Certificate in a related field.
- Technical knowledge and certifications, including ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I and ACI Strength Testing Technician Certification.
- Local DOT Certifications.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and extended hours.
