Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As an LVN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician/advanced practice provider. You will utilize your observational skills to observe nursing interventions and assist medical staff to ensure optimal care within established policies, procedures, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Transcribe physician/advanced practice provider orders and communicate directly with a Registered Nurse to institute changes in the plan of care
  • Administer specified medication appropriately and accurately following provider orders and standing orders
  • Execute treatments such as urinary catheterizations, placement of intravenous catheters, and suctioning procedures
  • Perform related patient care functions such as taking vital signs, wound care, and instructing patients in self-administered treatments
  • Assist physician/advanced practice providers or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments
  • Document care in Health Connect per policy, procedures, guidelines, and protocols
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and required
Requirements
  • Minimum Twelve (12) months or greater LVN direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Vocational Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support

  • IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal Certification preferred
