Operations Manager for Manufacturing Facility

*Seeking candidates from the DFW area who are open to relocation following training. The training will be conducted in Haslet, TX.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of facility operations including production, shipping/receiving, and maintenance.
  • Foster a safety culture that emphasizes adherence to best practices and cleanliness.
  • Develop a quality-focused environment aligned with customer expectations.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Establish financial budgets and manage costs to enhance overall performance.
  • Ensure the accuracy of ERP system data and oversee company assets at the facility.
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities in optimal working condition.
  • Identify and manage local suppliers for maintenance and other services.
  • Act as the company representative for local regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Supervise staffing, training, and employee development initiatives.
  • Promote adherence to corporate policies through effective communication.
  • Serve as a visible, hands-on leader, setting an example for the team.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in lumber remanufacturing, woodworking, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in lean six sigma methodologies with a track record of leading change.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data collection and analysis.
  • Energetic and organized, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to integrity.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and methods for scheduling, inventory, and shipping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other computer applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & ATTRIBUTES

  • Work within a lumber remanufacturing facility equipped with cutting and assembly machinery.
  • Indoor office space complemented by outdoor production and lumber yard management.
  • Personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, eyewear, and steel-toed shoes is mandatory.
  • Initial travel may be required for training and potential customer engagements.
