PRN - Flexible Scheduling Options Available
Compensation Tiers:
Tier 1: Competitive base rate based on experience, requiring 3 shifts within a 6-week timeframe.
Tier 2: $40/hour for 6 shifts within a 6-week timeframe.
Tier 3: $45/hour for 12 shifts within a 6-week timeframe.
Tier 4: $50/hour for 18 shifts within a 6-week timeframe.
Additional Shift Differentials: Applicable for night and weekend shifts.
Unit Overview:
The Acute Trauma Medical Surgical unit comprises a 40-bed mixed facility located on the 5th floor. This unit provides care for patients requiring medical monitoring as well as those with traumatic injuries transferred from intensive care and emergency services. It is also specialized in the post-operative management of patients undergoing acute and chronic gastrointestinal and urologic procedures. The unit is recognized as a "Center of Excellence" for the care of bariatric surgery patients. Each shift typically includes 3-4 Patient Care Technicians to support nursing staff.
A Mobility Technician from the Physical Therapy Department is assigned to assist patients in their mobilization efforts.
The unit is also supported by a certified wound care nurse who conducts weekly rounds on all patients to ensure comprehensive wound management.
Role Responsibilities:
A Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for delivering patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. The Registered Nurse also prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates patient education and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel while upholding professional nursing standards. The Registered Nurse is equipped to provide both direct and indirect patient care.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills:
Graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
B. Experience:
Preferred 1 year of acute hospital RN experience.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
Current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
American Heart Association BLS certification – to be obtained within two weeks of employment.
ACLS certification – preferred within eight weeks of employment.
Work Type:
PRN
Shift Differentials:
7pm - 11pm +$3.50/hour on base rate
11pm - 7am +$4.50/hour on base rate
Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) +$2.50/hour
Time and a half for major holidays.
