About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer I to join our team at Penske Truck Leasing. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and supporting our business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support existing software development efforts and troubleshoot issues as they occur.
  • Develop new software modules across multiple small to medium projects concurrently.
  • Lead the design of certain software components and suggest new products, applications, and features based on industry and technological trends and advances.
  • Consult with process owners in reviewing, interpreting, and developing systems in accordance with user requirements.
  • Mentor junior software engineers and work with a diverse team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent years of software development experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in appropriate programming languages (Java, RPG, etc.).
  • Full stack development experience in technologies such as React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Spring framework, Spring-MVC, myBatis, RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of technical project management, design frameworks, and patterns.
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies and best practices.
  • Experience in relational database design and Agile software development methodology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues, research emerging software development frameworks and tools, and estimate medium to large-sized projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
