Job Title: Mechanic

The Heber City Mechanic plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, heavy trucks, police vehicles, light vehicles, and small engines. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair fuel, ignition, electrical, electronic, and cooling systems
  • Perform welding and machine fabrication as needed
  • Install and test electrical and advanced electronic systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance work on various types of equipment
  • Operate equipment and drive City vehicles, trucks, and equipment as required
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its internal customers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions:
