Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Advanced Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing both invasive and non-invasive procedures on diverse patient populations, employing sterile techniques, and assisting physicians as required throughout the healthcare system. This role requires a high level of independence to deliver exceptional imaging results.

The Advanced Ultrasound Technologist must maintain a minimum of three qualifying ARDMS specialty certifications in addition to ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI Vascular certification as directed by departmental leadership. Specialties may include, but are not limited to: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echo (FE), Neurosonology (NE), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), or Pediatric Sonography (PS).

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Required License: ARDMS or ARRT Registry in Ultrasound at the time of hire. Vascular Ultrasound Registry from ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI is required upon hire. High-Risk OB Technologists must be registered in OB/GYN and complete necessary continuing education to maintain certification. BCLS certification is also required.
  • Preferred License: ARDMS certification in multiple specialties.
  • Preferred Experience: At least 12 months of prior experience in ultrasound.

If applying for the High-Risk OB Technologist position, a minimum of three years of experience in ultrasound with a focus on high-risk OB/GYN exams is preferred.
