Production Equipment Operator

Position: MACHINE OPERATOR - DAY SHIFT
Location: San Marcos
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5am to 1:30pm or until completion
Compensation: Starting at $21 per hour (potential increase following a successful 90-day introductory period based on performance)
Weekly Hours: 40+ hours; Full-Time
Ideal Candidate Profile: Previous experience in a food manufacturing setting with a focus on heavy labor is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to food safety protocols while wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.
- Operate production machinery, ensuring safety, quality, and precision throughout the process.
- Conduct data entry, sampling, and complete required documentation.
- Troubleshoot machinery and resolve basic operational issues.
- Maintain cleanliness at the workstation and perform basic cleaning of machinery after production runs.
- Collaborate with team members; assist in training or support others as directed.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors regarding production challenges.
- Contribute to team objectives through consistent and punctual attendance.
- Additional tasks may be assigned based on departmental needs.
Required Skills: Basic proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English for data entry and documentation.
Physical Requirements: The role involves regular use of hands for handling, talking, and hearing. The employee must frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Regular lifting and moving of up to 75 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Employees may be exposed to varying conditions including dry, wet, or humid environments; cold temperatures in refrigerated areas; moving mechanical parts; and moderate noise levels.
Additional Information: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a post-offer background check, drug screening, functional assessment, and physical examination.
