Location Overview:

The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility spans over 1,120,845 square feet and employs approximately 470 dedicated team members who take pride in producing iconic pet food brands. This site features a cannery for wet dog food production and includes an on-site Distribution Center. Bloomsburg is known for its vibrant community, hosting Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, and a renowned Town Park offering various recreational activities. The area is also famous for one of the largest and longest-running fairs in the country, making it an excellent place to live, work, and enjoy leisure activities.

Key Responsibilities:

The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) serves as the critical link between the Operations and Maintenance teams. This role encompasses the oversight of maintenance activities essential for ensuring the reliability of operational assets within the organization. The OMC is tasked with prioritizing work, managing maintenance backlogs, and planning for shutdowns. Key stakeholders include both production and maintenance teams, with the OMC representing the interests of Operations in prioritizing maintenance tasks to meet production goals while also advocating for Maintenance to minimize emergency interventions and maximize the completion of planned work.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to guide the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors on work prioritization aligned with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
  • Develop and enhance EAM maintenance operating systems, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor plant maintenance efficiency.
  • Facilitate daily meetings to assess new work requests and establish realistic priorities.
  • Review and validate new work requests for completeness and clarity, approving or rejecting based on organizational value.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work order data and monitor the quality and safety of maintenance job executions.
  • Maintain awareness of equipment maintenance needs and ensure timely preparatory activities for maintenance work.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and communicate priorities effectively to both Maintenance and Operations teams.
  • Utilize the Risk Rank calculator to categorize work as emergency, urgent, or routine.
  • Participate in project handovers from Engineering to Maintenance to ensure compliance with work management processes.
  • Oversee the execution of the Basic Equipment Care (BEC) program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Solid understanding of plant production and packaging processes.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control methodologies.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with EAM/CMMS systems; Infor EAM experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management principles, including precision maintenance and preventive maintenance strategies.

Skills:

Work Structure:

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel expected, typically 15% or less.
