About the Role

The Immigration Attorney II position is a critical part of the CCILS team at Catholic Charities of Oregon. This role will provide direct legal services to low-income individuals and supervise CCILS support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct immigration legal services to low-income individuals, including:
    • Providing legal consultations and representation
    • Representing clients before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in cases, including but not limited to; family-based petitions, waivers, consular processing, U Visas, VAWA self-petitions, T Visas, Adjustments of Status, Asylum, DACA, and Temporary Protected Status
    • Representing clients in removal proceedings in Immigration Court
  • Coordinate legal volunteers, interns, and externs and provide supervision
Requirements
  • JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to bar in any state
  • 3 years of experience practicing immigration law, preferred
  • Outstanding leadership skills with 1-2 years supervisory experience showing progression (Preferred)
  • At least one year's experience managing social service-related programs, including experience with staff supervision, program development, and budget management
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English
