Mechanical Welding Inspector

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Welding Inspector to join our team at SGS. As a leading testing, inspection, and certification company, we are recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of industrial material and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes. This will involve visual and physical inspections, witness of testing, and review of QA/QC documentation.

Additionally, the Inspector will be required to issue reports of findings within a specified time limit and sign an independent contractor agreement with SGS North America Inc.

Key qualifications for the role include:

  • Certification as an American Welding Society CWI, CSA W178.2 (Level 2 or 3), CSWIP 3.1, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in fabrication inspection of fixed and rotating machinery and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and equipment
  • Excellent understanding of welding, weld symbols, and weld inspection per AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3
  • Certification to ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II for MT, PT, and RT

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in using computer software, and have a strong attention to detail.
