We are seeking a skilled Medical Claims Processor to join our team at Kitsap Mental Health Services. As a key member of our revenue cycle department, you will be responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining billing records, including processing eligibility, credit card payments, client statements, batching encounters, denials, etc. to ensure proper billing records are kept.

Responsibilities include collecting and sorting daily incoming/internal mail, ensuring that items are distributed to the correct biller, performing monthly eligibility verifications, answering internal eligibility requests, answering phones, responding to patient requests or transferring to the necessary department, helping clients understand billing charges, batching and uploading claim files to the clearinghouse, processing claim acknowledgement files, monitoring and resolving clearing house claim rejections for assigned workflow groups, working with clients to collect outstanding balances, and assisting Billing Specialists to collect money from insurance companies.

To be successful in this role, you must have one year of customer service and/or billing experience, as well as intermediate knowledge of Excel. You should also have experience verifying eligibility (Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial) and understanding of billing practices. In addition, you should possess excellent organizational skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
