Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Mechanic/Engineer to join our team at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As a key member of our Facilities Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain all mechanical systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boilers, chillers, and other mechanical systems
  • Monitor and control the operation of mechanical systems to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve maintenance and repair issues
  • Develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules to ensure optimal system performance
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational high school graduate with a minimum of two years of plumbing courses or equivalent
  • Minimum of four (4) years of general maintenance experience in plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC
  • Experience with shop tools, pipe threading, electric drills, rotary hammers, steam pressure reducing valve stations, etc.
  • Ability to interpret plumbing, electrical, and mechanical blueprints

  • New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard F-60
  • New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems S-95
  • New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness Supervision of City Wide Sprinkler Systems S-12
  • New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness Supervision of Standpipe Systems S-13
  • New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Supervision of Piped Non-Flammable Medical Gases G-71
  • Valid driver's License
