Position Summary
The Tech Services Engineer will oversee a diverse range of aircraft systems, structures, and maintenance programs, providing operational engineering to guarantee the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the CRJ-700/900 platform for PSA's crews and customers in the long term.
Job Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze, and devise solutions for issues related to aircraft design, operation, maintenance, performance, modification, or repair, including components.
- Formulate complex solutions and implementation strategies, conduct project justifications, perform cost/benefit analyses, manage project execution, and secure FAA approvals as necessary.
- Establish maintenance programs, configurations, and serviceability criteria to ensure safe and compliant 121 operations, including reviewing and implementing relevant Service Bulletins (SBs) and FAA Airworthiness Directives (AD) for PSA's fleet.
- Interpret intricate technical Engineering and OEM documentation.
- Assess the cost impact of fleet decisions to maintain an optimal balance of cost, asset utilization, quality, and reliability.
- Provide on-site technical Engineering support as required for the effective operation of PSA Airlines.
- Collaborate with all departments within the airline to achieve outstanding safety and reliability outcomes.
- Oversee the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and related Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Technical Operations/Maintenance within a 121 Airline Operator.
- Familiarity with Code of Regulations (CFRs), airworthiness design and substantiation criteria, and aircraft and equipment design and operational characteristics.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and present to executive leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and implementing change initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills for addressing and resolving complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing team dynamics and stakeholder relationships.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Must be authorized to work in the US if hired.
Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory role.
Delegation: In the absence of the incumbent, responsibilities will be delegated to the Director of Engineering & Technical Services.
Authorities: None.
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office setting, routinely utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift weights up to 25 lbs, use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms.
