Position Overview

City of Hope boasts one of the most prominent and effective transplantation programs nationwide, having successfully conducted over 18,000 bone marrow transplant procedures across our facilities.

The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit is committed to delivering comprehensive care to patients undergoing this intricate procedure, which is essential for treating various hematologic cancers, genetic disorders, and specific autoimmune conditions. Our unit not only administers standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy but also offers CAR T therapy for a range of diseases. Collaborating closely with clinical research nurses, we provide care for patients involved in clinical trials, ensuring a supportive environment from pre-transplant evaluations through to long-term recovery.

This role entails working 12-hour shifts, specifically during the night, starting at 7:00 PM. Eligible candidates may receive a shift differential for night shifts of up to $6.50/hr and a weekend differential of up to $14.40/hr.

Sign-on Bonus

We offer a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients at all stages of the transplantation process, including monitoring vital signs and identifying potential complications.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement personalized care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Patient Education: Provide essential information to patients and their families regarding the transplantation process, including pre- and post-transplant care, potential risks, and management of side effects.
  • Symptom Management: Assess and alleviate symptoms such as pain, nausea, and fatigue, offering emotional support and comfort measures to enhance patient well-being.
  • Infection Control: Implement stringent infection control protocols to minimize the risk of infection, educating patients and visitors on best practices for hygiene and safety.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status and any changes in condition.
