Buffalo Trace Area Development District is seeking a highly motivated and creative Communications Specialist to join our Workforce Department. This role will play a vital part in shaping the public perception of our organization and its impactful programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans encompassing media relations and engaging social media content creation.
  • Manage and actively monitor social media channels, ensuring consistent updates, accessibility, and compelling content that resonates with our target audience.
  • Analyze communication efforts through data tracking and reporting to measure effectiveness and refine strategies for optimal impact.
  • Design visually appealing and informative materials such as brochures, flyers, and other outreach resources to promote program awareness.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of events and outreach initiatives to expand our reach and engagement.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of TENCO's policies, principles, strategic objectives, and program offerings.
  • Contribute to the development of compelling written materials for various purposes, including Strategic Planning documents, Board meetings, presentations, Annual reports, and Training sessions.
  • Deliver clear and concise presentations to both small and large groups effectively conveying key information.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with media contacts to secure positive coverage and amplify our message.
  • Craft engaging content for publications and newsletters, adhering to copyright regulations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing MS Office Suite, photo and video editing tools and software.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, including planning, coordination, and minute-taking.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to identify and develop grant applications.
  • Design informative training materials that enhance participant understanding.
  • Represent the agency and Board professionally at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred. Two or more years of relevant experience is highly desirable.
  • A portfolio showcasing your work will be required for review.
