Key Responsibilities:
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leadership: Promote and enforce HSE policies and regulations, fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Construction Execution Planning: Develop and review Construction Execution Plans from a client-centric perspective, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Preconstruction Collaboration: Participate in preconstruction discussions with clients and General Contractors at a leadership level, driving project success.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead internal teams and collaborate with external partners to develop contractual obligations, including estimates, schedules, staffing plans, and business plans.
  • Schedule Management: Oversee and assess all components of the construction schedule, ensuring contractual obligations are met and team members are held accountable.
  • Project Integration: Oversee the integration of all projects' multi-disciplines (Owner's, A/E, Contractors, Procurement & Supply chain) on site.
  • Risk Management: Serve as an escalation point for all field activities and client relationship risks, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Issue Resolution: Provide suggestions to resolve escalated project, staffing, financial, schedule, contractual, subcontractor, and client relationship issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiation and Change Order Management: Negotiate issue resolution, including change orders, contingency expenditures, and fee enhancements.
  • Project Risk Assessments: Conduct project risk assessments and escalate risks to supervisors to provide visibility, mitigate risk, and create solutions.
  • Change Order Review and Recommendations: Review and provide recommendations on change order requests and impact mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Progress Reporting and Metrics: Review and provide feedback on metrics and basis for progress reporting against the baseline.
  • Constructability Review Guidelines: Establish constructability review guidelines and protocols.
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Develop guidelines and protocols for cost reduction initiatives, reviewing project-level cost reduction recommendations.
  • Operability and Maintainability: Review project-level operability and maintainability recommendations.
  • Safety Recommendations and Corrective Actions: Review and provide recommendations on project-level safety recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Review and provide feedback on the framework for construction quality control, reviewing quality recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Site Logistics and Phasing: Develop overall site logistics and phasing strategy, approving logistics and phasing recommendations.
  • Claims Resolution: Review claims resolution recommendations.
  • Owner Rep Staffing: Ensure Owner Rep staffing levels are sufficient, relative to contractual commitments, schedules, and constraints.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree (M.S. or MBA preferred).
  • Capital Project Experience: Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated capital project construction leadership experience.
  • Integrated Team Leadership: Experience managing an integrated team on large complex and multi-phase capital projects/programs construction consisting of multiple project elements.
  • Project Delivery Methods: Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods.
  • Leadership and Negotiation: Demonstrated experience providing leadership of a team in an integrated project delivery organization, negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts.
  • Project Delivery Success: Proven track record of delivering major capital projects/programs successfully (on budget, on time, meeting safety and quality standards within approved scope).
  • Partnership and Issue Resolution: Proven track record of partnering and issues resolution.
  • Communication and Presentation: Demonstrated excellent communications, presentation, and written skills.
