Job Summary

As a Craft Apprentice (Painter) with Dickinson ISD, you will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appearance of our district facilities. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and painting of various surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all safety and code requirements of the State, local, and Board of Education
  • Assist in preparing surfaces for painting by sanding
  • Assist in drywall repairs by taping, floating, and texturing walls and ceilings
  • Assist in painting various types of surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. (preferred)
  • Clear and valid Texas Driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent walking and reaching, frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds and over) is also required on a daily basis.
