Job Summary:

Amberwell Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Your expertise will be essential in collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gas levels. You will also measure lung capacity to determine impaired function and perform respiratory therapy procedures and cardiac diagnostic procedures throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with pulmonary disorders
  • Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens
  • Measure lung capacity to determine impaired function
  • Perform respiratory therapy procedures and cardiac diagnostic procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care

Requirements:
  • 2-year/Associate Degree in Respiratory Care
  • Licensed by the State of Kansas as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • NRP certification
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to potential electrical shock
  • Exposure to x-ray/electromagnetic energy
  • Exposure to communicable disease
  • Exposure to blood and/or body fluids

Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work - exert up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
  • Stand for 1 hour per day
  • Walk for 1-2 hours per day
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Have good eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Have clarity of vision: Mid (>20
